Owosso

DSC_0487
It’s easy to lose motivation, inspiration, momentum..when winter hits in Michigan. But I’ve been thoughtful about making plans with friends and escaping my town for day trips to other areas in the state, especially adorable towns like Owosso where I can find free parking and hit up gems like Foster Coffee
My friend and fellow blogger Melissa lives there and she joined us for coffee while Greg (who just launched his blog the Colorful Perspective) and I took photos of our food with our cameras. We both ordered the pumpkin donut muffin, which was scrumptious and I switched it up and tried their iced coffee. Seriously, so good. If you live in the area, it’s worth the trip.

Winter Indoor Essentials

I like to hibernate during the winter months, choosing my warm bed or couch over any sort of social function on weekends and watching Netflix in cozy sleepwear. I also prefer wearing pieces like this mockneck turtleneck that I can wear to bed, but wake up and head to brunch in. I’m all about simplifying my life. It’s that time of year I give myself permission to take it easy so here are a few chill-stay-inside essentials.

I layered up for a trip to Grand Rapids for a blogger meet up that Sam and I coordinated. We planned a little Sunday afternoon event at Le Bon to nibble on macarons and sip wine. It was lovely. I miss how often I’d attend blogger meet ups earlier in my blog days and it just doesn’t seem to happen as often, so I hope to keep planning these from time to time. I’m thinking the next will be in Lansing.
A special thank you to our sponsors Meijer, Essence Cosmetics, Dove and Degree! We were able to put together gift bags for each blogger and really pull the event together with them and Le Bon! If you haven’t checked out Le Bon, I highly recommend indulging in a few macarons and an iced vanilla coffee. So. Good.

Lost Sun

DSC_6355
I finally found the right pink hue for my hair and I think it’s got some staying power (not literally, this shit will fade fast, but it’s the tone I will ask my colorist each time.) I get lazy with dressing myself when I work from home. Why not wear the same sweatshirt four days in a row, I ask myself. Well, on day four of this sweatshirt, I actually added jeans and make up and headed out of the house for a couple meetings. Anyone else struggle with pulling themselves together on work from home days?

Borrowed from the boys

andrea-21
I stole this sweatshirt from my 6’6″ boyfriend whom I never thought I could borrow clothes from. I threw this on and was out the door for a brunch blogger date with Samantha of Samantha Elizabeth. She moved to Lansing from the Michigan’s Upper Peninsula and we’ve been meaning to meet up for months and finally got it to work out! It’s so funny how it’s not strange at all for me to meet up with people and spend an afternoon grabbing food, taking photos and going shopping together. I felt like I knew her already because of her blog and when I get frustrated with comparing myself to other bloggers and making time for outfit shots, I remind myself of the friends I’ve made because of it and the awesome people meet.
