Dress for Summer

Feeling those boho vibes this summer, especially elevated in this dress. Most of the time I prefer to wear jeans and anything baggy but it’s a nice feeling to feel pretty and feminine from time to time.
Boohoo sent me this fabulous dress and they also sent me a quiz to define my style squad, which was no surprise at Casual Squad, which is fitting for my typical ripped jeans, tank and birks, but I love the look and feel of summer bohemian. The Boho Squad is definitely one I relate to more with this look and digging the boho playsuits and the maxi dresses.

Denim & a Dress

What a difference one week in Michigan makes–the weekend before it’s snowing and I’m bundled up in a winter coat and less than a week later I can traipse around in an easy dress and a light, denim jacket. I added a pair of heavy black boots and the heart choker with a brown/nude lip to make 1990s-ify the look since I can’t seem to want to dress outside that decade lately. I’ve been wearing these lipsticks and shades: Kat Von D liquid lipstick in bow n arrow, Milani retractable lip liner in most natural (I wear this on its own or use this as a base before adding lipstick EVERY. DAY.) or NYX Liquid Suede in sandstorm (pretty much a dupe for Kat Von D.)

A Leota Holiday: 1 Dress, Styled 2 Ways + a Giveaway

With grad school and working, I haven’t had much time to think about what I’d wear to the 8 million holiday parties I have this year, but when a blogger friend who now works for Leota asked if I was interested in styling a dress of my choice, I started to think about what might be most versatile, easiest to wear and fit my style. This dress by Leota was it! I picked it out solely off its flattering silhouette, but it’s such a quality piece. I decided to style it two ways since I immediately had multiple visions of how to style and re-style it for different occasions.
This first look is how I plan to wear it for a holiday party this Thursday. A bit of fur and a pair of Louboutins, I’m going to be one classy bitch..with an arm tattoo.

I styled it for for another holiday event, the GRC holiday gala last night with a leather jacket and an over the knee boots to make it a little more casual and a little more rocker. I can’t wait to wear this again with a pair of kick ass ankle boots. Which look do you prefer?

I don’t often to choose to dress up, but every couple months, I have a legitimate reason to switch out the jeans, show off my unshaven legs and whirl around in a dress. Last week, I headed out to an awards event and styled this dress with the capelet with hairy legs and black heels. I just love how playful the dress is and wore it again for dinner with my friend Liz last weekend. I later regret the pink heels and wish I would’ve stuck with the black heels as I wore earlier in the week. You live and learn.
