Spring Fringe

Tennessee’s state capitol building has been on my Nashville bucket list and I finally got to check that off along with another trip down Broadway at night to show my mom the bright lights, honky tonks
and really, just the crazy shit show that it is on any given day. We ended the night grabbing a slice of pizza at Five Points Pizza, which may very well be the best New York style pizza I’ve ever tasted in my life.
It seems each year I forget the prior struggles with wearing fringe and how impractical it actually is. The fringe got stuck in my purse, in the seat belt and stuck on my tables and shelves in restaurants and shops I stepped into. Despite the annoyances, it was worth the hassle. I just love anything poncho-like and it made for easy dressing.

McGavock Pike

To escape the cold Michigan spring and the clutches of my diet, I flew to Nashville with my mom for a mini vaca to eat all the bread, brisket and lattes I can stuff myself with. We’re here until Tuesday and we’ve already exhausted ourselves with trips to various neighborhoods, downtown and the Belle Meade plantation. I don’t typically experience FOMO, but I do when I travel and if I’m not going making the most of the trip and packing in as much as possible, I feel as if I’m missing out.
I wore this outfit basically two days in a row, the first night for dinner outside at Butchertown Hall and the next day to tour Belle Meade and to visit some antique shops, trading out the heels for brown boots and a crossbody bag.

Strolls

DSC_0536
I made a quick trip to west Michigan last week for a dentist appointment and to visit my mom! We checked out a local antique store she’s been dying to see and then we went to her favorite restaurant..you may not have heard of it..Olive garden and enjoyed an early bird dinner.
The two of us are headed to Nashville this Saturday for a mini vaca and I’m kind of pumped since we’re on the same page with sleep schedules (go to bed early, wake up early) and eat all of our meals early. Also, I’m so pumped about the Prada wedges I picked up from Moss in Austin! They’re so comfortable, yay for used shoes.

Festival Season

DSC_0682
I teamed up with Kohl’s to share my music festival style as the season gears up. While Coachella and Lollapalooza always have strong line ups and artists I’d love to see, I prefer smaller venues and outdoor music festivals. I love to hit up local music festivals or smaller ones near my friends in other cities. I’m not overwhelmed, I get to be surrounded by my friends and I don’t have to shell out a ton of money. Win win.
As for dressing for festivals, I usually go for a tee or tank with a pair of distressed denim and I liked the idea of white denim with a black crocheted cardigan to layer when I inevitably get cold as the sun sets. What music festivals are looking forward to this year? What’s your go-to outfit?

River Walk

DSC_0302
My hair got a fresh cut on Monday, so long split ends! In celebration of hacking off shitty split ends, I tossed on a trapeze dress and flashed pretty much everyone on the river walk trail–THANKS WIND. I wore this last fall back in October and was excited to style it for spring on a sunny evening downtown.
