I woke up bright and early on Mother's Day surprisingly hangover free from the bar crawl the night before and made a trip to the west side of Michigan to visit my mom and go horseback riding. In my family, it's not necessary to get dolled up for any holiday or occasion, so I wore almost all denim and an oversized shirt with ribs on it. I understand there are rules on how to wear denim and I said to hell with those rules and styled an outfit of denim cut offs with a vintage denim jacket. My mom thought I looked cute. That's all that matters.
We took my horse, Cissy, an old show horse and my mom's horse, Logan, across the street to the fairgrounds and through short trails. I haven't done that in years! I don't particularly enjoy nature, but it was relaxing to take a quick ride and catch up with my mama.

You look absolutely stunning. LOVE EVERYTHING ABOUT THIS OUTIFIT! I break rules all the time...rodeoing, we have so many rules and I guess you can say "uniform rules" negative for me...who says there are rules when it comes to fashion?!
Have a beautiful day!

Andrea, you look super cute!! And yes, to hell with the rules... because this look totally works!! Love the extra touches too: edgy tee, layered bracelets & the funky hat! Hope your Monday is off to a lovely start. xo
I am jealous of the following things:
1: Your hair (yes, still)
2: Your horse (I love them, but haven't ridden in years)
3: That you can drive to your mama in a reasonable amount of time. I wish I were closer to my parents!
4: Pretty much everything about this outfit. You're ballin', as usual.
Hugs!

It's so fun to see you in this setting! I think readers are used to seeing you in the city with your edgy outfits, and this shows a softer, completely different side of you! Your hair is awesome as always, and I would be happy with half as much volume with my curls.

These photos rock. So does the way you styled denim on denim. I just love it. Something different from what everyone else is doing. F the rules. You break them and that's why I love your blog and your photo's so much! xoxo

i love those warm cordovan boots with the short cut-offs, adorable! also, screw denim rules, those types of dogmatic laws and adherence to them are for chumps, it is all about attitude and personal style.

I usually hate the look of denim (for some reason, I always type that as "demin") jackets, but HOT DAMN you pull it off! So jealous. Following your blog to get learned on how to dress super awesomely.
