This is my last summer as a 30something and I’d like to bid adieu to my 30s with a fun and more active plan for the season. Here are a few things I’m planning and doing!
Roadtrips & One California Trip
I’ve visited Gatlinburg, Tennessee with my parents and Rob at the end of May for a long weekend. None of us have been there before and it will be the furthest my stepdad has ever traveled in his life and we had an incredible time.
Rob and I also planned a wine weekend in Sonoma a couple weeks ago and then I’m hoping to take a break from some travel beyond road trips to northern Michigan this summer.
Take Advantage of More Local Events
There are so many farmers markets, county fairs and festivals I love in the summer and hoping to get to more. I went to a couple of these Backyard Bash events last summer and they’re a ton of fun, and extra bonus: a mile from my house.
I’m a daytime person, so I’d prefer to be out and about as early as possible and in bed by 9 p.m. at the latest.
Moving my body, but make it fun
This is the season for long dog walks and meandering down scenic trails, which I plan to do during vacations this summer. I’m not in the mindset for full cardio workouts or strength training so that won’t be my focus, but I will be walking, walking and more walking! I also gave up my Apple Watch so I could stop the obsessive monitoring of steps and damn is it freeing.
Here are some workout shoes that will be comfy for walking that I’m loving! I realized all my workout shoes are trashed or don’t fit me well so a new pair will help motivate me.
Meal Prep for Summer Meals
I love winter meal planning. Hearty soups and casseroles are my go-to but I need to get inspired for summer cooking and grilling outside of hot dogs (although I’ll be consuming a lot of those too.)
I’ve been updating my Pinterest with more easy summer meals to keep healthy and not bored with food and hoping to consume more veggies and less sugar (and drop the extra pounds I gained this winter.)
