Fall and winter seasons are my favorite. I love bundling up, wearing cozy layers by the fireplace and keeping a low profile at home.
What I’ll be Wearing
I’m loving super oversized fleece zip-ups this season. They’re comfortable and super on trend.
I’ll be rewearing these outfit formulas from last winter. I can’t wait for beanie weather!
I’m pairing these socks I recently bought with loafers and mules. I love the mix of textures and also keeping my feet toasty warm.
What I’ll be Doing
Per usual, I’ll be cozied up by the fireplace on my new couch with all three dogs, rewatching some of my favorite winter show and movies (new Hallmark holiday movies, Game of Thrones rewatch, etc.)
I’d also like to do some sort of micro wellness reset. I’ve been super low energy lately and it gets worse during the winter months so I need to move my body a little more, do more meal prepping (which is easier for me during the winter season!) and journaling.
Speaking of meal prepping, I love preparing soups, casseroles and crockpot dishes. I usually try to make a healthier version from recipes I pull from my Pinterest, adding more protein with chicken or cottage cheese.
More sleeping! I sleep better in the winter and I love to call winter my season of hibernation. I have heated blankets and even a heated mat for the dogs so we can all be equally comfortable and toasty.
This is a perspective I embrace during the coldest season of the year. I find calm and comfort in the dark, dreary days and try to keep a positive attitude. It truly helps and now I enjoy winter more than ever.
With all the downtime, there’s no better time to reorganize forgotten drawers and disorganized closets. I’m saving these tasks for winter! This will also include tackling my guest rooms where clothing and accessories are stacked and ready to find new homes. I usually sell some items on Poshmark, sell some on Instagram, give my family items I know they’d love and donate the rest.
Where I’ll be spending my time
I turn into a hermit this time of the year and I love being at home fully enjoying my mortgage. And I have just a couple trips planned so far.
I’m heading to Boston next week for a long weekend with my mom. We’ll be exploring Boston, Cambridge and Salem.
I also have a friend who owns a couple of cottages in Petoskey, so I’m hoping to spend a week up north at the price of just the cleaning fee for my 40th birthday early next year. I plan to invite just a couple close friends and I also don’t mind traveling up there alone for a little birthday solo vacation. Downtown Petoskey is filled with cute boutiques and one of my favorite coffee shops, North Perk Coffee.
I would love one quick weekend getaway to somewhere warm for a little vitamin D. I’m thinking somewhere out west like Las Vegas or Sedona where I can shop and still do a few fun outdoorsy activities.
