Andrea’s Day Off
I was kind of sort of forced to take extra vacation days before our holiday break and my extra time off turned out to be the most delightful. Read More »
I planned a day trip to Grand Rapids to deliver a present to my friend Jen and take a mini tour of the city for food and drink (naturally.) We kicked off our day at Ferris Coffee for lattes and wonderfully lit selfies before heading to Broadway Bar, a dive bar with delicious food and most importantly, infamous for its holiday decor. Snow has been piling up, but I didn’t let it slow down my Sunday plans! I’m an early bird so naturally I woke up early and forced myself to work out and then completely negated the calorie burn during brunch at Capital Vine. It must be a hidden gem in Lansing since it’s so good and you’re guaranteed to quickly get a table. The homemade poptarts are delightful. I tried something new this winter..I didn’t bitch about the impending snow or curse it as filled my driveway and sidewalk (of which now I’m legally required to handle myself as a homeowner. Ugh what a goddamn bummer.) Michigan winters are harsh and it’s just the start–so I’ve been stocking up on hats, boots and more practical outerwear. And more non-practical outwear too.
Despite the snow shitting on my weekend and ruining my Sunday plans, I was still busy with morning meetings, a MSU basketball game and a friendsgiving that involved the most delicious food AND sharing stories of people who have shit their pants. Quite possibly the most lovely evening I’ve had in some time.
