Winter Cape

This cape/poncho is EVERYTHING. It instantly dressed up my sweatshirt and ripped jeans, which is what I love about outerwear. I wore this to work over a simple dress and it kept me warm with these serious gusts of wind and snow.

I planned a trip to Grand Rapids last weekend to work out at FLEXcity Fitness’s GR location with my friend Jen and then breakfast at the omelette shop. I tried to be good, but I have no self control when it comes to delicious bread and crispy hash browns.
I changed in my car and headed to the downtown market to introduce my mom to its many delicious food options (so I ate again). We grabbed crepes and cupcakes before heading Warehouse One Antiques and ending our day at Le Bon for a macaron and coffee. I surprised my mom a trip to Las Vegas at the end of the month so we spent some time discussing plans which now include a day trip to LA and visiting canyons and state parks where my mom expects to see at least one band of wild horses. If you have any restaurant recommendations for Vegas or the Santa Monica area, let me know!

Cool Fringe

There’s nothing more effortless than a cool ass poncho that makes you appear cool and chill and dresses up dirty jeans and the shirt you now wear as a pajama top. It’s also helped to conceal areas of my body I’m not too pleased with following my holiday eating binge. Kind of the perfect outfit for weekends.

Winter Plaid

Since I was off in Dallas over the holiday, I celebrated Christmas late and gift giving last week when I returned home and wore this amazing oversized plaid tunic that cuts up on the side with a pair of jeans and clearance loafers I scooped up from Zara. I snagged these pretty cool sunglasses from Kendi’s shop, West & Lou (and Kyle’s mom got me a necklace and sweater from there too for me!)
I’m back at work today and not quite ready to get back into the routine. I enjoyed bumming around the last week and a half, sleeping in, overeating..Ah, wonderful. I also slept so well. My sister watched James for a full week and each night I could sleep in any position without hitting a pup or get woken up every couple hours in the middle of the night by a cuddly dog wanting under the covers. But, I can only bum around for so long without becoming bored and I did miss James. I’ve realized it’s good for me to actually relax and do shit for at least a few days. Well, I suppose I am ready for my routine!

A Cozy NYE

Sam and I partnered with Kohl’s to share how we might style a sweater dress for New Year’s, as we’re both a bit more laidback and think there’s more options for NYE beyond glitter and sequins. I’m all about the comfort, with leather mixed in. What are your NYE plans? Mine are dinner and curling up on the couch to rent some movies!
