Petoskey: A Photo Diary

Exploring Petoskey

I forget how wonderful Northern Michigan can be with its quaint towns and clear water beaches. We made the trip up north for Labor Day weekend where I got to escape the heat and enjoy layering up in 60something degree weather. Truly delightful. Petoskey is a town I’ve visited a handful of times over the course of my lifetime, but not enough to recall the cute shops and restaurants. It has a sizable, walkable downtown area that we spent hours wandering. Read More »

Last Stop: San Francisco

Bay Area Exploring

We spent the last two days of vaca in San Francisco waking up at the ass crack of dawn to beat the crowds and the traffic. We walked through the ancient forest of Muir Woods, drove through the winding mountains and hills, grabbed breakfast in Sausalito and drove back over the Golden Gate Bridge to share a sundae at Ghirardelli Square, coffee at the Mill Cafe, tour the Ferry Building and check out Oakland. Monterey & Carmel

Folktale Winery

After staring at sea otters at the Monterey Aquarium, my mom and I drove out to Carmel to visit Folktale Winery and Vineyards. This was after we ate the most delicious breakfast earlier in Carmel at From Scratch. So much good food on this day of the road trip!

Day Drinking

There’s really nothing more delightful than a quiet afternoon of day drinking in the sun. I’m not a fan of loud noises, dark bars and usually drinking anything alcoholic, but this place was so beautiful. It resembled a french chateau with views of the mountains–and the sparkling rose and truffle oil fries were so tasty. I can enjoy a drink every so often when I can sit in the sun like a cat and unwind. Read More »

Exploring Brooklyn in 4 Hours: Where to Eat & Shop

DSC_4190

Favorite Spots in Williamsburg

By the time Celeste and I had our free day to explore Brooklyn, we were already sore and tired from city living. I’m so used to driving my car even for a couple blocks that walking miles and miles was physically difficult. Pathetic, I know.

Anywho, we made the trek from Midtown to Williamsburg and survived four-ish hours–and made the most of our time before we called it quits and headed to dinner in SOHO. This area is a hot bed of vintage and indie shops and we mostly stuck to Bedford Ave., an area that seems to contain most of the shopping and restaurants. Read More »

Chaos & the City

Yotel

I forced Celeste from Retail Therapy to snap a few photos of me outside our hotel before we headed off to Chelsea for a buying trip to Designers and Agents. I looked tired and grumpy and I felt that way too. I should’ve passed on taking photos, but I liked my go-to look for the day and wanted to quickly document it. Read More »
