Dress Styling When It’s Cold AF

I love this little boho number, but it was SO cold when I decided to wear it–the sun deceived me and it felt like a perfect day to wear a colorful dress. Since I despise dressing up, I thought I’d dress this down with jeans. Read More »

Pretty Dress at the Barn

Just prancing around the horses in a pretty maxi dress, isn’t this how you do it too? I spent a couple days in the Muskegon area and wanted to see how Cheyenne has been doing since my mom rescued her on Christmas Eve. She’s put on 100 pounds since I’ve last seen her and she has another 100 pounds to gain until she’s at a healthy weight. She already looks so much better. I love a mare. They’re little bitches and for some reason, I just get them. And they get me. Sassy ass mare. Read More »

Motor City

Detroit seemed to be the perfect centralized meeting point for friends coming from Chicago and Canada, and me, an hour from Detroit so we planned a last minute weekend away and while the girls nursed their hangovers Saturday morning, I was the early bird who took off from downtown to Rochester to meet Fourth Street Boutique. It’s been probably six years since I’ve been to downtown Rochester and it was already so lively even at 9:30 a.m. The shop is located on Fourth St. of course  in a quaint converted home nearby beautiful salons. Picture. Perfect. I snagged this one piece jumper and a pair of bedazzled pink slipper mules handmade in India and showed the owner Donna and her associate Lori how to use the app Facetune. Gotta spread that knowledge.

It was perfect timing to meet Donna at Fourth Street and find such an adorable one piece since I had a blogger dinner event at Iridescence at Motor City Casino and Hotel the next day and what I packed to wear for it was shitty and boring. It was a fancy event that I knew required more than the old standby of dirty jeans and boots, so I tossed this on with a pair of flats, explored Midtown and downtown with Sam before hitting up the hotel to indulge in a delicious dinner. I love when it takes absolutely no effort to look cool and this spring/summer piece will be added to my weekday and weekend rotation. And I also need to get back to Detroit to eat more great food. Besides Iridescence, I brunched at Gold Cash Gold and Dime Store while eating dinner at Central Kitchen and Townhouse right downtown.

TxSc Day 2!

The cold and rainy weather continued into the second day of Texas Style Council and I realize just how high maintenance I am in a campground setting with rain and no continuous source of Red Bull. But above the rain and my whines, I really appreciated the actual camp and just how laid back it was. I met so many genuinely kind and funny people and I was able to reunite with my own blogger friends.
I didn’t get dressed for the first half of the day, opting to stay in my leggings and sweatshirt I wore to bed, but once I did, I went for a more bohemian look that suited our setting pretty well. I served as a moderator with Yen and Merl to talk about using your online skills/presence and how to apply those skill sets to your real, offline life. We wanted to share different perspectives with Merl’s journey to designing jewelry and her shudio space to Yen’s vintage clothing shop. It was all about reminding everyone blogging doesn’t have to be the end all be all, you can use this to help launch other passions and hobbies or take you further into your career, whatever that may be.
