Tank Top + Tee Layering

Tank Style

I’ve been contemplating the “tank over tee” layering trend. I felt too old for it, but then I was like, “fuck it. I’m young at heart, sort of.” Plus, my friend Maggie of Clean Clothes came over last weekend to help me organize my closet and restyle pieces, and she actually picked this tee to layer with the tank, something I don’t think i would’ve pulled together on my own. Black + Tan

Brunchin’ in Muskegon

Sometimes I write off Muskegon, Michigan as a giant shithole and I forget there’s more than a sad Olive Garden or depressing Golden Corral. But there are local shops and restaurants to explore that I didn’t even know existed. Read More »

Winter Days in Rockford

One of my favorite things to do is plan a fun day with a friend where we can indulge a bit (hello fancy and expensive pedicures!), good food and some shopping. It was lightly snowing this day–the first snow of the season and for the first time ever, I was actually excited for it. Rockford reminded me of Stars Hollow, so quaint and cute. Read More »

Put a Hat on It

I said goodbye to some hair last week and attempted to debut it in all its glory, but rain got to it and a day later, I needed a hat. I wore versions of this outfit I think three times last week…some sort of long vest with the black top and faux leather leggings. I switched out the standard black boots for leopard print heels for my third wear. Along with over-wearing this top, I’ve been wearing Kat Von D’s liquid lip in bow n arrow. I didn’t think I’d be obsessed with it during an impulse purchase at Sephora, but it’s been my go-to every day for the last week or so.

Almost Spring Midi

Merl made a spontaneous trip to visit me in Michigan this week and it couldn’t have been timed better–because I miss her a shit ton and I’m in a new place trying to adjust, and decorating the new place, which is easier when she helps.
We hit up a few antique malls in Lansing and Grand Rapids yesterday where she snagged vintage baskets, a wicker bull’s head and wall decor and she convinced me I could make these glass/brass containers work for plants. She’s the visionary and when she’s with me, I can pick out the right things for my apartment. We ended our shopping day at Home Depot to buy plants and Merl ever so nicely potted them in my newly purchased brass and glass pots.
