Changing Leaves

Now that my neighborhood is in full fall mode and the temperature is right, it was time to but out the clearance camel sweater. I made a list this fall of some of the items I needed to replace in my closet or stock up on and the top of that list was oversized sweaters. Naturally, all the ones I pined over were hundreds of dollars so I clearance shopped and found everything I was looking for at ridiculously cheap prices. This sweater was $7. Score. I piled on the sweater, boyfriend jeans and my new Black Crystals necklace for a neutral, cozy look for a day of working from home, coffee dates and dog walks.

James and I

I grew up around a lot of animals. Horses, goats, dogs, cats, the occasional rabbit..and by the time I was off to college I was ecstatic to be freed of animal chores, dog hair, dog smells and cat claws. I floated through the last ten years of life still comfortable with no responsibilities beyond watering a plant, but last year I started to think about my own dog. One that was small enough to sit on my lap and an easygoing temperament that didn’t mind sitting on the couch with me. I also dreamed of one that was already potty trained and didn’t shed. Well, I found the most precious pup and he took a while to be completely potty trained and I had my moments of near meltdowns when he was a baby. He also sheds crazily and so now I clean crazily. But I love this little ten pound ball of shedding fur and cuddliness.

Things I Like

Last week’s workout essentials: New headphones and workout outfit (outfit post with this gear coming up next week!) with my favorite deoderant and Jergen’s natural glow lotion gifted from Meijer and Laura Mercier oil free tinted moisturizer. I use this tinted moisturizer everyday as my foundation, it’s light and it matches my skin perfectly and is light enough to keep on during workouts.
Even though he still poops in the house and chews on my underwear, I still like James and cuddle with him everyday.
My hair has been kind of a mess and super brassy lately. I just got a haircut, but before I figure out what I want to do with my hair color next, I wanted to tone down the brassy roots. Shu Uemura Color Lustre isn’t a miracle product, but it works a hell of a lot better than other purple shampoos I’ve tried.

A couple weeks ago, we stopped in this open space in our neighborhood to let James run.
He loves a good stick.
