Orchards in October

Last Weekend

Since I’m a clueless homeowner, my grandparents have road-tripped to Lansing the last couple weekends to help me unpack, assemble closet room furniture and handle electrical/other hard shit..and after a couple hours I suggested we pack into my car and take a quick trip to two neighboring cider millsΒ to take a break from the manual labor. Coopersville

I wore this to work last week. Finally, an outfit that appears more dressed up that I love to wear and am comfortable in. I snagged this dress from Shopbop a couple weeks ago and knew I could easily dress it up or down, so boots and a leather jacket seemed like the perfect pairing. I got a mani the night before and I was trying my hardest to preserve the perfect white nails and it only last for maybe 24 hours before I completely destroyed them.
I got to see my mom last week too (the day I wore this!) and we grabbed a way early dinner at a bar in Coopersville and wandered off to a bakery across the street. The sign was a donut so naturally I was curious and had to go in. I ate two sprinkle donuts. No regrets.

Soft Sun

This poncho embodies everything I love about fall dressing: fringe, cable knit and anything cream toned. I’ve been tossing this on quickly for running errands and it makes it seem as if I made an effort. It also conceals my constant food baby. The combo of overeating donuts and wearing ponchos work perfectly together.

Leather + Camel

Kyle didn’t like this outfit and questioned it from the beginning. It was one of those “man repeller” looks that could only be appreciated by a girlfriend or fellow blogger, which is why it was a perfect for a day trip to Grand Rapids with Sam of Samantha Elizabeth. We’re planning a blogger meet up at Le Bon Macaron in Grand Rapids on November 22–so..if you’re interested, email me!

Apple Land

So I successfully convinced Kyle to visit an orchard to buy apples (a peck of Jonogold and half-peck of Empire) and visit one of my most favorite people on this planet, Dave, who was essentially my FFA advisor in college. His family still owns and operates the orchard and I realized it had been an entire decade since I had last been there. God, I’m old. Dave let Kyle and I taste test some apples before we settled on the most tart varieties.
