Sunday Style

The weather now requires layers (yay!) It was 80+ degrees the day before in Indianapolis and when I returned to Michigan it became colder as the day progressed, so much so that I bundled up and made chili and cornbread for dinner. Read More Β»

Snow is Here

I tried something new this winter..I didn’t bitch about the impending snow or curse it as filled my driveway and sidewalk (of which now I’m legally required to handle myself as a homeowner. Ugh what a goddamn bummer.) Michigan winters are harsh and it’s just the start–so I’ve been stocking up on hats, boots and more practicalΒ outerwear. And more non-practical outwear too.

The Weekend

Despite the snow shitting on my weekend and ruining my Sunday plans, I was still busy with morning meetings, a MSU basketball game and a friendsgiving that involved the most delicious food AND sharing stories of people who have shit their pants. Quite possibly the most lovely evening I’ve had in some time.

Wandering

It’s been 15 years since I’ve last visited downtown Rockford and it is incredibly cute. My friend Jen lives there and we finally committed to a plan of lunch and wandering the shops and trail along the river. I stumbled into a candy store where I have absolutely no self control and grabbed a caramel apple and some sour cherry candies! It’s such a quaint downtown–not too big and not too small, a perfect day trip if you’re already planning to head to Grand Rapids. Read More Β»

Camel + Grey

2015-11-22 01.53.00-1
I layered up for a trip to Grand Rapids for a blogger meet up that Sam and I coordinated. We planned a little Sunday afternoon event at Le Bon to nibble on macarons and sip wine. It was lovely. I miss how often I’d attend blogger meet ups earlier in my blog days and it just doesn’t seem to happen as often, so I hope to keep planning these from time to time. I’m thinking the next will be in Lansing.
A special thank you to our sponsors Meijer, Essence Cosmetics, Dove and Degree! We were able to put together gift bags for each blogger and really pull the event together with them and Le Bon! If you haven’t checked out Le Bon, I highly recommend indulging in a few macarons and an iced vanilla coffee. So. Good.

Culottes for Fall

DSC_8102
I hate dress pants and when I have to dress up for work, I’ve been slowly finding comfortable, less stuffy versions of something I can wear if jeans won’t fly. Like these culottes feel like pajama pants, but I wore them to client meetings last week.
