Camo Casual

My mom came to visit me this weekend and I’ve finally realized I’m her clone, which works well when two impatient and hard to please people are together!
We zipped through the art museum and several art galleries and shopped swiftly last Saturday. No moseying around for us! I made sure to introduce her to one of my favorite restaurants, Soup Spoon and spent the rest of the afternoon at home chuckling over episodes of Roseanne before grabbing dinner and both going to bed around 8:30 p.m.

It was in the 40s last Saturday so I layered up my favorite grey sweatshirt with the camo jacket and wedge sneakers, good to go. Low maintenance and cozy!

I’ve been on this whole black and white kick lately. I wore this to work on Monday, but switched out the bag after work. The sun was finally shining and I can feel spring making its way back…slowly. It’s been motivating me to get some things done like spring cleaning (hello, closet overhaul) and finish up my side projects (lots of photo editing.) For some reason, I always think I’ll end up wanting to curl up in front of my window like a cat and absorb the sun on these kinds of days, but it just makes me want to get shit done.

The sacrifice of warm feet is occasionally worth it for a shoe like this. I also never noticed that this chambray top is ombre, which makes me like it more and revel in the fact that I got it on such a great discount from UO, along with these Elizabeth and James shoes that I got on sale! The outfit makes me proud knowing that if I’m patient long enough, I will indeed be rewarded. And in this particular instance, with discount clothing.

Facts Versus Romance

I was recently measured for a bridesmaid dress where I learned I’m a size 2 in the bust, 4 in the waist and 8 in the hips, a true pear-shaped woman. This silhouette with the fur stole seemed to balance my proportions and I felt as refined as a girl from Muskegon, Michigan could possibly feel.

Sunshine, Lollipops

Last week, I headed to the Mad Men themed local ADDY awards in town. A show I love, but not a decade I typically emulate in my style. If only the theme was 90s grunge..or Kesha. I could rock a Kesha themed awards gala.
I felt like a different person with this hairstyle and it was fun to escape my normal look and a typical week night on my couch by heading out to the ADDYs. Last week was rough, but I genuinely had a great time getting dressed up and seeing some of my favorite creative people.
