Austin Bound

DSC_9206
For morning travels from Chicago to Austin and day 1 of Texas Style Council, I went for all cotton, basically a dressed up version of leggings and a t-shirt and wore the hat on the plane..and once we landed in the humid, rainy weather, I pulled my hair back and changed into old lady sandals that were cozy and also gave me a boost in height with the flatform. The first day at camp was spent getting acclimated to the camp site, reuniting with friends and meeting bloggers I love online in person.

Mock turtle necks remind me of my old boss who’d pair a black mock turtle neck with a tweed blazer and a pair of cowboy boots. They were his signature look, but not the source of cool style inspo. I saw this online when I was shopping and I loved the texture and didn’t really realize it was a mock turtle neck..until I got it in the mail. And now I understand the appeal of such sweaters.

Off the shoulder

DSC_8469
Finally I’m no longer constricted by a thick winter coat and can let my shoulders breathe with a flowy top! I head to Austin this weekend for Texas Style Council with my travel buddy/anxiety reducer Merl and I can’t wait to wear culottes, open toed shoes and crop tops. Warmer weather and cool blogger bitches, here I come!

Messy Hair Don’t Care

DSC_7759
I rolled out of bed last Sunday disoriented as I tried to adjust to daylight savings time and make my brunch date with Hannah. I ended up staying up later than I ever do because I finally discovered Forensic Files on CNN and couldn’t stop myself from watching the marathon on TV. THAT SHOW IS THE BEST.

Lost Sun

I finally found the right pink hue for my hair and I think it’s got some staying power (not literally, this shit will fade fast, but it’s the tone I will ask my colorist each time.) I get lazy with dressing myself when I work from home. Why not wear the same sweatshirt four days in a row, I ask myself. Well, on day four of this sweatshirt, I actually added jeans and make up and headed out of the house for a couple meetings. Anyone else struggle with pulling themselves together on work from home days?
