Muskegon Bike Time is a huge annual event where more than 120,000 bikers and biker enthusiasts gather to show off their bikes, get wasted, eat carnival food and listen to local bands. It’s a family tradition to attend, whether you’re going for fun, working the beer tent or playing music. I hadn’t gone before, but the chance to people watch and drink beer out of a can was too much to resist.

Riding bikes and wearing Harley Davidson boots is just what you do if you’re in my fam. Consider it a rite of passage. My stepdad and I don’t have a whole lot in common, but it was fun to go to Bike Time with him and my mom with us both wearing our HD boots.
