With my work's annual dinner coming up tomorrow, I spent some time styling possible outfits and this one came out on top. I've been obsessive with planning every detail of this event, but I worry about all the things I can't control. For whatever reason, having my outfit determined for this event has given me some relief. I can hear my mom telling me to stop worrying about things I can't control, but my control freak nature doesn't allow me to do that so easily!

Back to the real issues...Any suggestions on accessories? This is what I initially liked, but I'm considering a black heel and different jewelry.

Washington St.

I slept in last Friday and missed most of the Black Friday deals, but by 5, I headed out to the Detroit area and did some shopping with Jack wearing the new scarf he got me and denim on denim. Anyone else start their holiday shopping yet? I ended up doing a majority of my shopping online on Thanksgiving between cooking and I'm already halfway done!

Take a Step

Last weekend I dealt with chronic crabbiness and boredom. I felt terrible with a migraine and poor Jack was sick with a cold, so we napped almost all weekend long with spurts of TV watching.
Jack was feeling better by Sunday and I pulled myself together for lunch at Five Guys, to grab coffee and fresh air. We also made a trip to the grocery store to do our Thanksgiving dinner shopping. For all these exciting festivities, I grabbed a pair of lavender jeans, chambray top and one of my many faux fur vests, a fall and winter staple of mine.

New Hair

I've been contemplating a hair color change for a while now and Kimberly from Sine Qua Non Salon read my mind and knew exactly what to do and get the "antique blonde" shade I was looking for. She also gave me some soft waves to rock with my new color. It's nice to have a little change every once in a while.

If you're a Chicagoan, check out one of Sine Qua Non Salons in Chicago and mention my blog name for a free eyebrow wax or conditioning treatment. I went to the Lincoln Park location where parking was easy, the salon had a cool vibe and they had great customer service, something I've struggled with before with at salons.

Kimberly was fantastic! I highly recommend her if you're looking for a hair stylist in Chicago. Oh and if you notice the cool art on the walls when you visit, she's the artist!

West

In my family, if you're wearing anything dressier than jeans to a wedding, you're overdressed. So I suppose I overdressed again for another family occasion. My cousin got married a couple weeks back in a more casual setting and so I styled a simple black skirt with opaque tights and a leopard print top.
I headed to a niece's birthday party at a gymnastics facility earlier that day and even though I flashed all the children when I bounced on the trampoline and launched myself into the foam pit and probably came across as some Lady Gaga wannabe at the wedding, I was dressed comfortably and didn't have a care in the world! Which is probably because I lost all inhibitions after running through the gymnastics place with all the eight year olds.

Late Fall

Last Tuesday's election day meant I could wear jeans to work (after I voted of course). Our building was closed to the public so I took it a step further and wore a crewneck sweatshirt too. This outfit is basically what I live in after work and on weekends. 
I'm loving these slouchy hats that actually fit my big head and hair, any cool shops or etsy sellers you know of that sell these? I picked this one up from Target, but I want more!

Which Bebe Outfit Do You Like Better?

Which outfit do you like better? Bebe let me style two outfits, one of which I'll be wearing to host a Girls Night Out at Chicago's Bebe Oak Street location on Thursday (more details to come tomorrow.) To vote, visit Bebe's Facebook page!
I styled the first outfit of Bebe metallic pants, sheer blouse and cropped moto jacket with my new LAMB heels, Tali Malibu studded clutch and a simple gold choker. It's an outfit I would more regularly wear, you know, since I'm sucker for leather. The dress is something a little more outside my comfort zone, but super fun and kind of perfect for Girl's Night Out. I styled it with Christian Louboutin heels, my FAVORITE Merl Kinzie necklace and the Bebe red faux fur jacket.

Losing Daylight

I styled this dress slightly different for a rehearsal dinner last weekend, pairing it with a pair of black pumps and a leather jacket. It was just too crazy to get pictures taken then and I'm still learning to not get anxious if I can't get something blog-related done when I think it should be. I waited until this weekend to get the pictures taken on a lazy Sunday when I had plenty of time on my hands and this time, I looked at my closet and thought about how I want to style it next, perhaps on a date with Jack.
