Pattern mixing. It's something I don't attempt very often, but with the neutral palette, I felt comfortable mixing polka dots, the textured top and the skirt with nude shoes. It was an outfit I could wear to work and be comfortable in from running to a radio interview to many, many meetings.
[Sofia skirt c/o PB&J Boutique (on sale right now!), top swapped from Keiko, cardigan from Forever 21, heels c/o Nine West, bag by Rebecca Minkoff, ring c/o B Mila]

andrea, thank you so much for your kind, kind, kind comment. i love blogging, it is a wonderful and fun community, and has been a generally useful and productive antidote to writer's block and poetic malaise. as much as i love images and photographs, admire passionately the work of others, i am (obviously) not a photographer. i am a writer to my core, and so when someone recognizes or takes some bit of interest or feeling from my words, it makes me elated!
i write (a lot) of poetry (that blog is invite only.... i submit stuff to lit mags for publication) and short fiction (though, not as much lately as i would like). a novel idea has been roaming about in my head for quite some time, but, i've yet to muster the stamina and courage to try to attack it. maybe i should start...
thanks again, made my day!
Oh I am absolutely in love with your skirt and the print on it!

You did a great job of print mixing! I love this cardigan. It reminds me of a sweater at Old Navy in the exact same colors I've been wanting to go and try on: http://oldnavy.gap.com/browse/product.do?pid=557738072&vid=2&tid=onaff4441350&ap=2&siteID=onafcid89
