Denim Love & Discounts

I've always loved the denim on denim look. Not particularly on my stepdad or the old guy at work per say, but something a little more feminine and current. And now my love affair with flares is in full swing. They just balance out my shape.
Since I picked this outfit up from Comfort Me in Chicago, they are offering readers who stop in the boutique in the Lincoln Park area, 10% off your purchase if you mention my blog. Chicago ladies, this place really is my favorite. I just feel warm and fuzzy when I walk inside and they have so many adorable pieces!
My jewelry finished off this simple look with gold jewelry and a colorful bracelet from JewelMint. JewelMint is offering my readers 50% off your first purchase using the code: BlondeBedhead50. The code is valid until September 7, so pop over there and check out all the cute stuff!

Also, I'll be in New York City from September 6 until September 11 with miss Tieka! It's been a year and a half since I've been able to partake in some fashion week festivities, but I'll be back! I'll be at the Lucky FABB Conference, ModCloth Swap Party, FNO partaaays and other fun stuff! I'm beyond excited! EEE! Who else will be in NYC?!

I knew this weekend would be a good one once my boyfriend helped me organize my shoe closet and my friend Erin arrived in town from Detroit. From shopping all over the city to indulging in pancakes and mimosas, I'd say our weekend was well spent.
I picked these shoes out at Lori's Shoes on Saturday morning and immediately switched out the sandals I was wearing to these ones. Leopard print makes me swoon, as you all know!
I love when Erin visits because she has such amazing style and always thinks of ways to style an outfit I might never think of. And she's not afraid to say, "No, I don't really like that. Try [insert better matching apparel item here]" Erin, I miss you already!

What I Wore + Shop It To Me

On Wednesday, I hurried over to the 900 Shops in my 6 inch platform boots to celebrate the launch of Jessica of What I Wore's book. I must say,  Shop It To Me hosted a fun book signing and it was great to chat with everyone from Shop It To Me and pick up a copy of Jessica's book!
I was really excited to see Jessica again! I met her during NYFW in February 2010 and immediately loved her. She's so accomplished, stylish and gorgeous--and down to earth to boot.

Chicago Blogger Meet N Greet

Emily of Sartoriography, Lisa of Archives Vintage, Tabitha of Defining Tabitha and Britt of That Shop Girl
Chicago fashion/personal style bloggers are my favorite. I might be biased since I now live here, but even before I moved, I made friends with many of these lovely ladies. They're just so damn down to earth and I felt like I could be myself with them. And they learned quickly I'm a sorry excuse for a lady with my potty mouth, lack of palette for exquisite foods (I just want a hot dog!) and my toilet humor. They accept me and I love that I feel at home here, even when I haven't lived here long. And naturally, when Lisa organized the Chicago Blogger Meet N Greet, I attended to see these fabulous people and make new friends. I like to surround myself with good people.
Karyn of Dethrose Vintage who I like to photo stalk.
The location of the meet up has been my favorite of all blogger meet ups to date. It took place at Deliciously Vintage, a beautiful boutique of curated vintage pieces. I loved the place so much, I'm heading back there this weekend to do some shopping. While shopping and sipping wine, I was able to reunite with friends and finally meet many more great girls. I love that there's such a great community of fashion bloggers. They really are all extremely personable and fun.
Oh, Emily. I heart you.

Fancy Pants & Narrow Passageways

Since I've been out of town the last couple months for weddings and family functions, I've been living out of a suitcase. It was such a relief to finally stay in the city last weekend and not have to think in advance to what I might wear or need to style various outfits. I could casually search my closet and change several times a day, which of course, I did. I was most excited to be in town this weekend though to see my blogger friends and meet a slew of new fashionable ladies at the Chicago Blogger Meet N Greet.
I styled this silk dress from Comfort Me with a pair of white pants last weekend with a pair of purple pumps and a studded clutch I almost forgot I own. This outfit just made me feel fancy, which I enjoy from time to time. I shed the pants and wore the top as the dress it actually is, which made me feel sassy, which was perfect for the fashion blogger meet up. I'll be sharing photos from the meet up tomorrow!

a sweater and ass kickin' boots

I styled this outfit for last weekend in Milwaukee. Nothing like a knit pair of shorts and sky high platform boots for fall transition! I'm becoming more and more excited for fall and have begun to brainstorm fall outfits, especially utilizing this thick, comfy sweater. I imagine once the weather cools down more, I'll throw this sweater over maxi dresses for the ultimate in comfort and warmth.
As my friends and family may know, I love a statement shoe and naturally, I attracted some stares with these amazing boots from Lori's Shoes. I had been coveting these boots for a while and now that they're mine, I believe you'll be seeing many appearances from them on here. My coworkers will probably begin to wonder if I own any other shoes besides these.

Back to Basics

This may be the most cozy dress ever. I spent yesterday prancing around Milwaukee in this black maxi dress soaking up the sun on rooftop decks and strolling around shopping. Since the dress is so simple, I added these pink espadrille wedges from Bucco and a colorful magnetic charm bracelet by Ulinx along with my standard gold accessories. I always feel the best in the most fuss-free and basic outfits.
