Pink Lace and Blue Crochet

2011Mar12_0157
I wore this a couple Saturdays ago after hearing it would be 41 degrees, which sounded unbelievably warm to me. Shockingly, it was not. I visited my friend Erin in the Detroit area and we visited a few of my favorite neighborhoods to shop and eat before I leave Michigan. She's my absolute favorite person to shop with and we share a mutual affinity for Mexican food, which naturally, is what we chose for dinner. Although shady, Mexicantown boasts some delicious restaurant options that are dirt cheap.
Threadsence sent me this fabulous top by Mink Pink. I paired it with some blue flats from Wanted to help chase away the last of winter blues. I was a little inspired by superman ice cream (which I googled and found through blogs this may just be a Midwest thing.) Nonetheless, I had colors in my mind and wanted to combine a couple.

You can also see I went a little lighter in my hair color, which I think always ends up looking lighter when my hair is straightened anyway. I want to figure out the best color for my hair because it makes such a difference. I might just be bored though. Throughout college, I experimented with virtually every hair color and ruined by hair in the process, but I just don't know what color is the best for me. Maybe I should have darker hair? Maybe I should try red again like I had in college? My natural color is this really flat ashy color, which would be fine if curly hair didn't make it look even more dull. It would be weird to have a different hair color with the name of my blog, but I'm willing to overlook that. Any suggestions?

I've been a follower for awhile now, and I love your style, but the reference to superman ice cream made me have to leave my first comment. I'm drooling now thinking of it, I haven't had it in years.

Hair advice? go into a salon and ask them what they think! When I worked at Douglas J, I'd go into the school and ask the teacher what color would look best and then the student would get a chance to learn how to use color to enhance a person's natural looks. Win win!

My hair is an ashy brown and the consensus from each colorist has been just amping it up to a chocolatey brown. I feed my need to change with peekaboo accents!

This is just the cutest outfit ever. I love it! The pastels are so sweet.

Oh, and I've been totally fooled by the 40-degree weather, too. I keep thinking it's going to be balmy, and it never is. :)

I, too, have had every color, shape and style of hair. By lack of other real options, I am rocking my natural color right now, and let me just say that I cannot wait to return to the States and get my hair did properly! :) As for your hair, I really like the lighter color, especially with your hair straightened. I wouldn't change a thing!

Love that shirt, but the thought of wearing it in such cold temperatures made me shiver a little. Props to you for looking gorgeous while being cold!

I like you as a blonde! I think it works for you. Plus I have a feeling you're going to want lighter locks as the temperatures get warmer. Don't make any rash decisions until April, March is the worst month and it toys with our emotions! Can it be Spring already, pretty please!!

I'm ALWAYS waffling on my blonde hair, and also damn near ruined it my senior year of high school because of lots of different dyes. But when it comes down to it, I can't really give up the blonde. I say keep the goldilocks!

love this outfit! makes me want to go out shopping!
i think you look great with super light blonde hair, and you're lucky, not all of us can pull that off! i suggest keeping the light blonde for a while, it makes people look so youthful and spunky, which is what i think of when i read your blogs. thanks for sharing your life with us. =)

Yes, this outfit is super cute. And I'm really loving that jacket! But I have to say, you look great with your hair straightened like that!! I love the curly locks, of course. But it's a fresh change, and it looks really good. :)

AHH the little sexy back on this top! I think you should definitely keep the blonde...if you are looking for change maybe go for some funky or lighter blonde highlights. You're hair is super pretty curly and straight, love it!

That shirt is the killer! Adore it and those shoes. You look so lovely with the straight hair, but please don't get a different color. It really suits you. Maybe some brown or caramel colored highlights, but not gthe whole hair a different color.

Love the lace at the back! Such an interesting twist to the shirt. Hmm, I can only really picture you as a blonde... but hey it's your hair, so try anything you want! "Red Bedhead" still might have a nice ring to it.

superman ice cream is totally midwest thing. I had no knowledge of it until I moved to Michigan. haha. Just the same as Rita's is mostly a east coast thing. No one in Michigan knew what I was talking about.

love your hair straight btw.

I think your hair looks great this shade of blond, but I know how it feels to want to change your hair color! Ive been blond, red, pink(accident) purpley red(non accident) brown and black. Im not actually sure what color it is now reddish brown? I dunno Ill probably dye it again soon anyway.
